HANDS-FREE LIFTGATE & POWER TRUNK

If equipped, Cadillac’s Hands-Free Power Liftgate lets you open and close your rear power liftgate by simply kicking below the bumper. No hands necessary.

OPERATING THE HANDS-FREE POWER LIFTGATE

STEP 1

Approach the rear of your vehicle with your key fob in your hand, pocket or bag.

STEP 2

A logo projection will appear on the ground, indicating where to kick.

STEP 3

Aim your kick over the logo, kicking up beneath the bumper, in and out, in one quick, straight motion. Be sure to kick within 10 cm of the bumper.

Note: The same kicking motion will also close the liftgate.

STEP 4

The liftgate will delay for 2 seconds before opening, giving you time to step away.

STEP 5

Your taillamps will flash and a chime will sound to indicate your liftgate opening or closing.

CUSTOMIZING YOUR HANDS-FREE POWER LIFTGATE

STEP 1

Select the hands-free customization menu icon on your infotainment screen.

STEP 2

Choose between Off, On-Open Only and On-Open and Close.

ADJUST OPENING HEIGHT OF THE HANDS-FREE POWER LIFTGATE

STEP 1

Set the knob on the inside of your driver-side door to the ¾ position.

STEP 2

Adjust the liftgate to your preferred height.

STEP 3

Press and hold the Close button on the bottom of the liftgate trim panel.

STEP 4

Your taillamps will flash and a chime will sound to indicate the setting has been stored.

OPERATING THE HANDS-FREE POWER TRUNK

STEP 1

Approach the rear of your vehicle with your key fob in your hand, pocket or bag.

STEP 2

In one quick, straight motion, kick your foot in and out under the center of the rear bumper. Be sure to kick within 10 cm of the bumper.

Note: The same kicking motion will also close the liftgate.

STEP 3

There will be a short delay, giving you time to step away.

STEP 4

Your taillamps will flash and a chime will sound to indicate your liftgate opening or closing.
